If you’re a regular here at D&T you may have crossed paths with vet Stuart Cashmore, who joined us earlier this year. University of London in 1999. He worked for a year on the East Yorkshire coast but moved back home in autumn of 2000.
Here’s more about Stuart’s journey to joining us here a D&T.
“I moved back to the Midlands in 2000 to work at my home practice. After 6 years I was offered the chance to become a partner in the business. I accepted and during that time the practice grew from three to eight sites, and I enjoyed heading up our new branches. In 2016 we made the decision to sell the practice. I stayed on as clinical director for 4 years and supported the staff through the transition, but in 2020 made the decision to move on and seek a better work-life balance.
Initially, I worked as a locum, and it was through a locum job that I was alerted to a full-time vacancy at Donnachie and Townley. At the interview, it was obvious that we were a good fit, as D&T is a practice that really cares for its clients and works hard to solve their problems. Everyone at D&T has been so welcoming and friendly. I am based mainly at the Stafford Branch but work at Rugeley one day a week.
I enjoy being a general practitioner small animal vet but have an interest in dermatology. I am currently studying for a certificate in dermatology to expand my knowledge in this subject.
Outside of work I have 2 dogs and 2 horses and enjoy travel and music.”
Thanks Stuart for telling us more about you!
